The story of ‘Bheema’ is all about the gang-war between two rival gangs to assert one gang’s supremacy over the other. Traces of Mani Ratnam’s super-hit film ‘Thalapathy’ starring Rajni and Mammooty are visible here and there.Chinna (Prakashraj) is a Dada who fights for justice while carrying out the job of maiming persons for a specific sum of money. Sekar (Vikram), who is brought up by Chinna from childhood, gets to stay close to Chinna and adores him a lot. Obviously, he grows up, becomes an integral part of Chinna’s gang and remains a nightmare to Chinna’s enemies.

‘Periyavar’ (Raguvaran), who patronized Prakashraj in his younger days and made him a gangster, sees red at the association of Chinna and Sekar and wants to eliminate them. The violent skirmishes that erupt between these gangs form the core of ‘Bheema’.Meanwhile, Trisha falls for Vikram and vice-versa. Her love makes him take a different perspective of life and he decides to shun violence and leave Chinna, his mentor. The climax is a gripping mix of events where Raguvaran attempts to finish off Vikram and Prakashraj while the Police set up an ‘encounter’ to check-mate all these gangs.

Watch the film to find out who eliminates whom. The last 20 minutes, which are full of twists and turns and push all of us to the edges of our seats!
Vikram as Sekar looks close to the title ‘Bheema’, a mythological character in Mahabharatha who is full of strength. Vikram’s commitment is visible in the way he has shaped his body (muscles and biceps) for this film. Not surprisingly, he excels in action sequences that have been set on par with those seen in Hollywood movies. Kudos to Vikram and the stunt director!
Trisha, who chases Vikram to no end, looks dazzling and exposes ‘liberally’ in the song sequences.

She has this uncanny knack of being part of many successful films, thought not being the main factor for all those successes. In this action-packed film, it’s Trisha who takes care of the comedy section and does a fairly neat job indeed!
It won’t be exaggerative to say that Prakashraj and veteran Raguvaran, natural actors with lot of versatility, are the two pillars on which the film stands. The rest of the cast including Ashish Vidyarthi, ‘Thalaivasal’ Vijay, Balasingh, Sampath and ‘Kalatpadai’ Jai, have all put in meaningful performances. Some peppy numbers by Harris Jayaraj (“Ragasiya Kanavu..

” stands out!), R.D.Rajasekar’s cinematography, dialogues by S.Ramakrishnan and above all, the handling of the story, screenplay and direction by Lingusamy helps the film hit the bull’s eye at the box-office!
‘Bheema’ is an action-packed drama! Go and enjoy it on the big screen!
