Review: ‘Deiva Thirumagal’
Genre - Drama Directed by - A.L. Vijay Produced by - Mohan Natrajan Music by - G.V. Prakash Kumar Casts - Amala Paul, Nassar, Santhanam Starring - Vikram, Anushka Shetty If at all there is an award for the maximum number of classy performances in a single film this year, then Deiva Thirumagal will easily be one of the strongest contenders for it.
The film, directed by Vijay, starts off with Krishna (Vikram), a person with the IQ level of a six-year-old, looking for his five-year-old daughter Nila (Sarah).
Vinod (Santhanam), an associate of lawyer Anuradha (Anushka), is someone who is desperate for clients. Mistaking the lost Krishna to be a potential client, he takes him to Anuradha, who, after trying to get rid of him initially, gets to know his sad story from Victor, the owner of a chocolate factory in Ooty in which Krishna used to work.
Victor begins to tell Krishna’s story from the day his daughter Nila is born. Victor tells Anuradha that with Bhanu (Krishna’s wife) passing away during child birth, Krishna, with his limited knowledge and maturity, was left to take care of Nila. Krishna however manages to take good care of the child with help from his co-workers and boss.
Life seems to be a bed of roses for Krishna and his daughter, who loves him as much as he loves her, until the day she gets admitted to school. With Krishna being unable to help her in academics, the child turns to help from her correspondent, Shwetha (Amala Paul), who is none other than Bhanu's younger sister.
Shwetha initially does not know who Nila isBut during a school function, she discovers that Nila is the daughter of her sister Bhanu, who had gone against the wishes of her family to marry a person with special needs
She immediately calls up her dad in Chennai to let him know the truth and immediately tries to claim custody of NilaHer dad comes to Ooty and convinces Krishna’s colleagues and his boss Victor to allow him to take both his son-in-law and his granddaughter back with him to Chennai
