Nayan in bikini set the trend, says Simran

Nayan in bikini set the trend, says SimranA decade ago, she was the dream girl of every cinegoer.Be it any role, Simran was an actress who performed it with élan. And, when she danced, she amazed all. But, surprising all, at the peak of her career she gave up acting, got married and settled down. Now that her son is growing up and with ample time on her hands, she returns to the glitz and glamour with two films already released.

Filmysouth held a chat with her on the second innings in tinsel world. You charm every one with your stunning beauty for long.

What is the secret of it?

Thanks for your appreciation.Glamour and beauty come from happiness.I am happy with motherhood. And I take life positively. The secret is my life is free of tension. You had acted with top heroes like Chiranjeevi, Balakrishna, Kamal Haasan, Nagarjuna, Venkatesh etc.But now, what made you to accept a film opposite a comedian in John Appa Rao 40 Plus!
The script was interesting, and I accepted it.I don't think too much about star value. For me, story is important.Everything else is seconday.

Did you miss the arch light after your marriage?

No.It was my personal choice not to act in films until my sun turns two.I wanted to enjoy and lead the marital life like any other Indian woman; hence I stayed away from acting after marriage.

How do you manage career and motherhood together?

I have planned it all, and made a comeback after much thinking. My son is everything to me.And I know how to handle the pressures of being an actress and being a Mom simultaneously.

Would you continue playing glam roles?

Why not? I never mind playing glam roles. That’s how media named me as the glam queen, (laughs). And I know where to draw the line. What are the changes that you can see now in Telugu filmdom after you’ve started your second innings?

Now the young film makers are more disciplined and have better understanding of film making.Earlier, films were completely entertainment driven.Today they can even write unique scripts that accommodates a combination like comedian Krishna Bhagawan and me in the lead role.Film making here has become more stylish.

Which is your favorite of all the films that you did?

It is a tough task to pick up.In Telugu, I think Narasimha Naidu, Nuvvu Vastavani and Kalisundam Raa are memorable movies. In Tamil, Vaali and Kannathil Muthamittal are my favorites.

Who do you think the best among the current heroines?

Trisha, Nayantara, and Shriya are doing a great job.Like late Soundarya and I shared great work and films, they are shining well.Trisha’s now ready for bikini.Bikini is a dress by which all the physical beauty of a heroin can be revealed easily.Earlier, heroines never used to accept this offer but Nayantara has changed the trend and acted in the flick 'Billa' with Bikini. This has created lot of talk in the industry and even there was news that her bikini was sold for Rs.2 lakhs.
With the market this bikini brought her, even other heroines started thinking on her lines.
