Prabhas Interview

Prabhas won the hearts of the Telugu audiences with his films like 'ESWAR' and VARSHAM.He has not only carried the legacy of his Pedananna Rebel Star Krishnam Raju to the core, but also enthralls his fans globally with his dedication to the profession, uncaring about the lingering politics in film industry.

Tell us about your "BUJJIGAADU" Made in Chennai.Any new decisions for this New Year 2008?

You are aware that BUJJIGAADU is getting ready. It is commercially full of entertaining movie. You are going to have all elements of a healthy entertainer. It is too early to reveal than this.Director Puri Jagannadh is a good friend.Even before the film commenced, we became thick. It is nice to be doing his film.

I always concentrate on my work, my profession, my house and my dreams.I ever invite new trends from time to time.We are planning a movie in our prestigious home banner '"Gopikrishna Movies'.It is likely to be launched this year.Looking back the year gone by,

what is your analysis of your career?

I agree that some of my films like 'MUNNA' and 'YOGI' were not big hits but again they are not totally failures. The film "MUNNA" collected Rs.6 crores.Coming to "YOGI", I consider a happy journey in my career.V.V.Vinayak brought all mirth on the sets working with me.But, I must accept, it also brought a big disappointment. It is all like experience.I have no regrets.

So far, you have done most of your movies with big directors like S.S.Rajamouli, Krishnavamsi and V.V.Vinayak.Do you set your priorities over directors?

I feel I am lucky to have worked with big directors.
I am also open to new producers and directors who come up with fresh concepts. My priority would be a solid script.Other things come later.I never go to any director and ask him to do a film for me.Working with big directors made me more and more humble.
I feel proud, I have learnt a lot within a short span of time which privilege had evaded many a hero these days.

It seems you are giving much importance to action movies. Why?

Why do you think like that? I have done a soft movie in the direction of Krishna Vamsi.CHAKRAM was a forward in that direction towards class audiences. But, it couldn't see success.
My top priority is to satisfy the taste of my audiences.I should be a bridge between the class and mass audiences.Recently I happened to see director Bapu Garu at a function, when Pedananna Krishnam Raju introduced me to him.I still remember the happiness in my heart when I spoke to him, saying I was his fan.

Of all your films, which you consider is the best film, and why?

Certainly, it is CHATRAPATHI.I could find perfect outlet to my characterization. There was superb ease.As a character, it amassed the wealth of admiration from the audiences. That is one film, which keeps me alive in the industry, irrespective of flops or non-performers.

As you look back on your career, what could you find most prominently?

I feel very happy. The entire credit of my raise from ESHWAR to the present day goes to Pedananna Krishnam Raju.I am also thankful to my co-stars and technicians, which out whose cooperation my journey would have sure faced blockades.

Do you have any plans to do multi-starrer films?

I am very much interested in acting with other heroes.I am not a person who thinks too much of myself. You all know, I just love my profession and do my own business. And I am least bothered about what is happening in the film industry.

Do you watch films?

Yes.I watch all kinds of films.Action, sentiment and comedy movies.Ofcourse, I personally don't like sentimental films.
But, I have to do them for my audiences.Recently I watched 'CHANDAMAMA', and 'HAPPY DAYS'.

Who is your favourite heroine?

Shriya is my favourite co-star.

What is your opinion about love marriage? When are you going to marry?

There is nothing wrong in love marriages.I welcome them.
I have a brother whose marriage should happen first.(Laughs) There is plenty of time for my marriage.

What things you consider most in the selection of a subject?

I first listen to the story and the punch in it.I will also concentrate on the screenplay and the realistic trend in it.If the subject is impressive, I don't find any difficulty.

My previous experience tells me to care for the commercial and entertainment aspects hereafter. But, I am adaptable to all
