Anushka in Mahesh Babu movie!

Anushka has been confirmed as the heroine in 'Varudu', the big budget Mahesh Babu starrer, to be directed by Trivikram Srinivas.

Mahesh, who did not have a single release in 2008, is all set to make up for the lost time. Though Parvathy Melton was considered for the role of the female lead, she was dropped later and was replaced by Anushka. Tollywood insiders say that the change of heart was prompted by the stupendous success of 'Arundhati', which has Anushka stealing the show in the title role.

Mahesh Babu plays a taxi driver in the film touted as an action-cum-romantic entertainer. The first schedule of 'Varudu' will be shot in Hyderabad and the second one, in Rajasthan. Manisharma scores the music and Sunil Patel of 'Hum Tum' and 'Bachna Ae Haseeno' fame, cranks the camera. The film will get on the floors in March.
