'Mestri' attacks Chiru!

Recently released Telugu film, 'Mestri', starring veteran producer-director Dasari Narayana Rao has become a taliking point in political circles though the film has not been able to make an impact at the B.O. The reason is: The film makes a few veiled attacks on megastar Chiranjeevi.

The Suresh Krissna film has been written and produced by Dasari himself, who is a Congress leader. The film is about a mestri (Dasari) who fights for justice. A character in the film resembles Chiranjeevi, say political observers. In one scene, the mestri even asks this character what he had done for his community.

Both Dasari and Chiranjeevi belong to the Kapu community and before Chiru took the plunge, the 'Mestry' was the most influential leader of the community. Naturally, he is upset at the way the megastar is expanding his support base, says a Tollywood insider.
