Meena to play Saint Vengamamba

Meena plays the title role as the famous Telugu saint in 'Tarigonda Vengamamba', directed by Uday Bhaskar. The film was launched in Hyderabad recently.

Vengamma, who lived in the 17th century, was a devotee of Lord Venkateshwara. Her devotional writings are very popular in Andhra Pradesh.

Meena has not been able to land a high profile role after the debacle of Rajni starrer 'Kuselan'.

The cast includes Saikiran, Sarath Babu, Sudha, Siva Parvathi, Ragini and Ashok Kumar. M.M. Keeravani scores the music.
