Priyamani is peeved
Priyamani is irked with a section of her critics who say that she is acting by wearing skimpy costumes, after winning the coveted national award. “Is there any rule that I should not wear glamourous attire just because I won a national award,” she asks.
“I know the value of a national award and I respect it a lot. But at the same time, acting is my profession and I am here to do whatever the director expects from me. I don’t want to elaborate further,” she says.
Happy about working with her mentor Bharathiraja after a long gap for a film titled ‘Annakodiyum Kodiveeranum’, Priyamani says, “I was not ready to believe when I got a phone call from Bharathiraja sir. But it was true.”
Throwing light on her role in the film, she says, “It is a beautiful character and I play a village belle. It is a gift to work with a legend like Bharathiraja. I am open to do more such challenging characters in Tamil cinema.”
