Vijayashanti as Rani Rudrama

Vijayashanti, the yesteryear heroine known for her cop roles in films such as 'Karthavyam', returns to Tollywood with another heroine-oriented film. She would essay the role of Rani Rudrama Devi, the brave queen of Kakatiyas who ruled from 1261 to 1296.

Vijayashanti, while speaking to media persons recently, said that she would be producing the film also.

The 45-year-old actress Vijayashanti earned the sobriquets "The Lady Superstar" and "Action Queen of Indian Cinema" with her brilliant acting and matchless charisma. She has acted in over 185 movies in seven languages including Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi. Her last release was 'Nayudamma' (2006), a moderate hit.
