Critics and audiences have been stunned by the utter ignorance shown to the quality of the film by the Allu clan who are known to deliver excellent value for money. May be it was the hype or maybe it was just the comparisons to the ingenuous ‘Magadheera’ that may have made us feel more cheated as we exited the theatre. Let’s dissect the movie part by part to find where we were let down.
The story is nowhere near the period drama genre and is completely a commercial thread set in picturesque locations. Badri (Allu Arjun) is one of the disciples of Bheeshma (Prakash Raj), an ancient martial arts guru who will soon be appointed as the 'kshetra palakudu' (protector) of Badrinath temple. Alakananda (Tamanna), an atheist comes to Badrinath along with her grandfather. Badri helps her to get out of some trouble she has with Sarkar (Kelly Dorjee). Not only does Alakananda realize the greatness of Badrinath and turn a devotee but she also falls for Badri, who has no such feelings towards herAdding to the trouble is the fact that Bheeshma decides to make Badri his successor and for that Badri has to remain bachelor forever
