Dookudu

Fans of Prince Mahesh Babu have been long waiting for onscreen exploits and ‘Dookudu’ serves them with the right mix of action and entertainment to make the wait worthwhile. The story exploits the entire elements key to South cinema hits. From corrupt politicos and passionate romance to cunning revenge and a heart warming father-son relationship, ‘Dookudu’ packs them all, with a punch.

The story revolves around a political leader Shankar Narayana (Prakash Raj) who is attacked by political-mafia nexus (Kota Srinivasa Rao, Sayaji Shinde and Sonu Sood) and left to die. As he falls into comma, his son and IPS officer Ajay (Mahesh Babu) is on a mission in Turkey where he meets and falls in love with his superior’s daughter Prasanthi (Samantha). Ajay returns, Shankar Narayana wakes up and all hell breaks loose on the bad guys.

Srinu Vytla, who is known for comic flicks, hasn’t let go of his forte and the film has some amazing comic scenes; especially ones by Brahmanandam. Mahesh has handled his department and delivered a commendable performance filled with action and style. His dialogues have a strong Telangana accent to them, which adds to his image.

Great performances by all major actors and awesome dialogues by Kona Venkat (delivered equally well) make ‘Dookudu’ a sure shot hit. In hindsight, the movie was a tad too long and the audience is taken through extensive reels of Heroism and romance before the gear shifts up and the main plot comes into play
