'Drona' has been in the news for the bikini act by national award winning actress Priyamani in the film. Except for Priyamani's dare-bare act and Nithin's high voltage action, there is nothing much to write home about in the film, directed by newcomer Karuna Kumar.

As has been the case with recent high profile masala flicks, 'Drona' lacks a coherent, credible plot and has all the ingredients of the traditional success formula rammed into it.

Nithin plays the title role. He, the son of an upright police officer (played by Mukesh Rishi), runs away from home and become a robber. A decade later, he comes back and lives with his parents under the name, Chandu. His neighbour, Indu, falls in love with him and accidentally finds out the truth about his past. What were the circumstances that forced young Drona to become a robber? The answer to this question forms the rest of the story.

Kelly Dorjee and Siva prasad play the villains who are out to destroy Drona. The former, an import from Bollywood, looks horribly out of place in the movie.

As for Nithin fans, they will get an eyeful of the dynamic young man who dances and fights like a dream. Obviously, the directed has "relied" on 'Batman' to picturise a few robbery scenes.

As for the main attraction of the film, it is Priyamani and her scintillating glamour. Sadly, the talented young woman has no scope to act in the film. Though Rakhi Sawant has an item number in the film, it is no match to the scorching skin show of Priyamani.

Mukesh Rishi dons a cop role for the umpteenth time and Seetha excels in the role of his wife.

The first half of the film moves very slowly and picks up momentum in the next half. But for some quality action sequences, there is nothing in the film that can hold the viewers interest; even the climax looks very tame and boring.
